Books: Anne Rice, the Rain, Quest for Right, Academy Updates, Random Notes

I’m having a bit of a bad day. I was up all night long with three sick kids and I’m beat tired… not that I had anything big planned for today’s blogging community but being tired ensures there isn’t. I’ve got a couple of notes that don’t make for whole posts on their own anyway and a nice bloggy stew is a good place for them.

Books

So, first of all, I am pleased to report that Anne Rice read my review of her latest book The Road to Cana and thoroughly enjoyed it. I have enjoyed both her “Christ the Lord” books but I think I have failed to provide a link to her page. Let me resolve that now. Her site is www.annerice.com. That occurred to me because I had the great pleasure of having her post my review- in its entirety- to her site. I take that to be a great compliment. The review is located on my blog, of course (here) but if you would like to read it on her site you’ll find it on this page here.

I have two other books in the queue for review. I am currently reading Chris Skates and Dan Tankersley’s The Rain (www.bereadyministries.com) and will have that ready in due time and I just received a science text book that aims to expunge evolutionary bias and bad science from the teaching of science called The Quest for Right. Looks pretty interesting to me. Their website is www.questforright.com.

If you want me to review your book from a distinctly Christian perspective (and obviously as an apologist), contact me through my contact page.

Academy Updates:

My online academy was due to be launched April 15th but on account of a developing advertising relationship with the ChristianPost.com, I am pushing the course start time frame back some to allow the advertising to have it’s full effect.

Random Notes

I get a real pleasure at seeing what search terms people use to find my blog. Here was one that really brought a smile to my face: christian apologists kill children

Yeesh. They’re right. Christianity is dangerous! Would the person who performed that search please contact me and tell me what on earth you had in mind there? I’m dying to know.

I’m thinking of turning off the ‘nofollow’ attribute to allow links to have full linky-love. It would appear that if I do that I might lose some of my hard earned page rank. I’m still thinking about it. If you know what I’m talking about and have an opinion, I would be happy to hear about it. If you don’t know what link love is, pretend you never saw this paragraph.

Post your blog to my forum…

I started a program where I allowed people to post their blog entries to my forum. Even you militant atheists can do that if you like, with some rules- like you have to be available as a member of my forum to discuss you’re entries if someone comments on them. This is still a developing feature, but what I like about it is that as long as you have RSS the blog entries come in automatically. You don’t have to do anything. If you’re interested, chat with me.

I am the author of The Quest for Right. I was working on the index for Volume 3 when Google alerted me to your blog. I look forward to your review of Volume 1. Volumes 2 and 3 will be shipped to you at a later date.

Truly, you have been called unto a good work.

    God speed.
