gun control needed to stem abortionist killings in churches

It has been noted that Dr. Tiller was gunned down in his church.  It is a wonder that no one has proposed the obvious:  more gun control is necessary.  Allow me to be the first to call for it publicly.

The first thing we need to do is make it illegal to have guns in churches in Kansas.

Then we need to make it into a crime to single out abortionists for murder.  We should tack it onto the Hate Crimes legislation coming down the pike.  There is nothing worse than hate inspired murder.… continue reading...

Separation of Church And State, Hitler Style

In 1954 the US passed tax exemption legislation that prohibited tax exempt entities to engage in certain kinds of political activities.

————————————

From a speech by Adolf Hitler, 1935.  National-Socialist Party Conference:

The Party never had the intention, and it has not the intention now, of engaging in any kind of hostilities against Christianity in Germany.  Our aim has been quite the opposite.  We have sought to unite the various regional Prostestant churches, whose conditions of existence were impossible, and create one great Evangelical Church throughout the Reich, without interfering in the slightest with questions of religious belief or practice.… continue reading...

Russians Right that America Is Nearly Marxist?

I saw this article from Pravda posted on the Drudge Report.

I am linking to it because I think there is a fair bit of truth in it, actually.   I doubt it will wake anyone up.  While I know a great deal of people who are not happy with the current trends and are not the ‘sheeple’ referenced by the editorialist, I can think of a fair number who scoff at the notion that fascism or socialism could happen here… when in fact it isn’t a question of whether or not it could happen, it is happening.

By the time … continue reading...

Government Uses ACORN to Track Your House with GPS

This is one of those times when you wonder if the mainstream media is worth even a lick.  I learned on WND yesterday that for the 2010 census they’ll be getting the GPS coordinates for every residence in America.  This process has apparently begun.  It is difficult to conceive of legitimate uses for such a database and very easy to conceive of abusive ones.

Since I hadn’t heard anything about it from my local media or even on national stations, I did a quick google.  Almost nothing.  The only thing was something out of NPR which says that tracking your … continue reading...

Sntjohnny Wonders: Is he Napolitano’s Right Wing Extremist?

There is of late a brouhaha brewing regarding the recent release of a report by the DHS with Napolitano’s approval that warned of ‘right wing extremist’ terrorism.  This is from the administration that is no longer using the term ‘terrorist.’

Read the full report.

I appear to fit into the definition of a ‘right wing extremist’:

(U) Rightwing extremism in the United States can be broadly divided into those groups, movements, and
adherents that are primarily hate-oriented (based on hatred of particular religious, racial or ethnic groups), and those that are mainly antigovernment, rejecting federal authority in favor of state continue reading...

Christians blaming Christians for the Modern Situation

I just saw two posts on Worldnetdaily.com blaming the Christian church itself for the interesting predicament it finds itself in today in America.  I submit them for your reading pleasure and have just a few comments of my own below.

Article one- The Church’s desertion in a time of war.

Article two- Christians, We are to blame.

I certainly agree with much of their analysis, having said similar things for awhile now.  For example, I think it is clear that our attempt to reverse Roe vs. Wade relied far too much on the political process.  That does … continue reading...

Study: Religion in Decline. What do we do about it?

In my local newspaper the following article appeared documenting the rising number of unreligious people in the country and the growing defection from the ranks of the Christian denominations.

Here is a lengthy quote:

The percentage of people who do not claim a religious identity has nearly doubled since 1990, growing to 15% of Americans last year, researchers with the American Religious Identification Survey found.

Mainline Christian denominations, once bulwarks of the religious landscape, have suffered most from the drift.

Methodists, Lutherans and Episcopalians are among the denominations that have seen their ranks decline.

Although 86% of Americans identified as … continue reading...

Madness! Pick up a rock and go to Jail

From Worldnetdaily.com

Just when you think it can’t get any more ridiculous.  Just when you think that legislators can’t get any dumber or more stupid or more wicked.   Just when you think that you’ve seen the worst:  the government surprises you.

Pending legislation described as:

A land management bill that swept through the U.S. Senate last month and is headed for a House vote this week punishes rock collectors and paleontologists with arrest and expropriation of their cars and other equipment for even unknowingly disturbing fossils on public land, say critics.

In the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009,

Thomas Sowell’s Fatal Trajectory and Horvath’s End Times Ponderings

Thomas Powell’s recent article at Townhall called “A Fatal Trajectory” was featured on Rush Limbaugh today.  When I got home I found some friends talking about it, too.  I thought Powell’s piece hit the nail on the proverbial head.

Here is a quote I want to comment briefly on:

Ultimately, it all comes down to who is willing to die and who is not.

How did we get to this point? It was no single thing.

The dumbing down of our education, the undermining of moral values with the fad of “non-judgmental” affectations, the denigration of our nation

The End of America: Civilization is Skin Deep

I had an invigorating debate this evening with a gentleman who took issue with my analysis regarding the potential overthrow and occupation of the United States, per my book series, Birth Pangs.  The blog entry the gent was replying to was my own critique of some Russian analyst arguing that the US is due to collapse in 2010.  Apparently the vital flaw in my critique was that I didn’t reject outright the possibility that the US could disintegrate, ever.  We are so big and mighty, goes the argument, that we will never be overcome by foreign foes.  More likely … continue reading...

Praestet fides supplementum sensuum defectui …

You may have arrived here searching out this Latin phrase from my book, Fidelis, the first in my Birth Pangs series.  If not, you might want to consider picking up said books!

“Praestet fides supplementum sensuum defectui…”Or, in some translations I’ve seen, “Faith supplies what the senses cannot…” But I am no Latin scholar. We get the idea easily enough, though. In the first place, this little sentence implies that there are things that are real that our senses themselves are inadequate to detect. In the second place, the ‘organ’ for making the detection is ‘faith.’

Faith has gotten … continue reading...
