Why Christianity is Opposed to Homosexuality

So, Jesus–and Christians believe Jesus is God–goes all the way back to Genesis to state the original plan, and dispenses with any attempt to erect this caveat or that excuse. The plan was good when the world was perfect and unfallen, it was good while God lived with the Jews when they were a covenant nation, it was good after the covenant had been dissolved and the Jews were dispersed to the four winds, it was good when they were brought back together and God again walked among them.

The Walk to Walden Hill: A Review

The Walk to Walden Hill begins with tragedy: the orphaning of the protagonist, Josh Billows. His mother dead, his father jailed, Josh ends up in foster care. As just a young child he is forced to grapple with issues that are known to shipwreck adults, even if he doesn’t understand the real issues that are in play.

Knights of Contention: Challenges Apologetics Can’t Answer

Tonight, Feb 22nd, at 9:30 p.m. CST we will host our next semi-regular “Knights of Contention” online discussion using voice, video, and chat.

The topic: The 5 Challenges Apologetics Can’t Answer.

Due to the wide scope, this conversation can go anywhere. I have summarized the 5 challenges below with links to each of the 3 parts in which I have detailed them.

5 Challenges, with summaries

What they all have in common: the belief, or acting as though one believes, that Christianity isn’t actually real. It’s just one’s private faith. No correspondence to reality exists, or is expected. ‘Apologetics’ can’t answer them because they have more to do with attitude or obedience than facts and evidence.

A couple of books to review

I received in the mail today two books to review… reminding me I’ve got a review or two yet to write! Argh!

To whet your appetite, let me say that both of these books appear to be solid and their respective websites look worthy of your investigation.

The first book is Rational Conclusions by James D. Agresti. This appears to be a thorough and cumulative apologetic for Christianity drawn from multiple disciplines. His website is www.justfacts.com. Find the book on Amazon, here.

The next book, by Dr. Edgar Andrews, is called Who Made God: Searching for a Theory of Everything. Pick it up on Amazon. I always like it when scientists step it up against other ‘scientists.’

I was feeling a bit like a heel for not having gotten to the other reviews of books that have been sent my way that I ran down and grabbed them so I could at least get some links their way. It’s the least I can do, I reckon

Apologetics is the Answer to Everything

Some Christians will begin seeing red just from reading the title of this entry.  They will be angry and annoyed and may even jump up out of their seats.  Therefore, let me say it again:  apologetics is the answer to everything. Whether it be the rapid decline of the Christian Church in America, the brisk […]
