Jaffe Memo Part 10, Religious principles that secularists have and why it matters

I have now spilled much ink contending for the proposition that religion and politics must mix, using the Jaffe memo as my leaping off point.  On the face of it, such a proposition would fly in the face of the notion of a ‘separation between church and state.’  However, it is important to note that in the last two parts many of the examples are in contexts well beyond the confines of the United States.  Even on the secular understanding of that ‘separation,’ it applies only within the US.  Some of the worst trends are seen at the United Nations.  … continue reading...

The Jaffe Memo and the War Against Climate Change- Religion and Politics Continued – Part 8

This is part 8 of a series reacting to the contents of the Jaffe memo.  Readers who have been following along may want to refresh their memory and obviously new readers should read what has come before or, barring that, at the minimum find the Jaffe memo linked in part one and read it.

I want to begin this section quoting from a truly ghastly article by a columnist from Canada named Diane Francis, who advocated for a globally enforced one child policy:

A planetary law, such as China’s one-child policy, is the only way to reverse the disastrous

Jaffe Memo: Part 7, Religion, Politics, Scientism, Climate Change, and Secular Humanism

This series began as a reflection of the contents of the Jaffe Memo, a Planned Parenthood document from 1969 that discussed ideas for handling the ‘population’ crisis.  This memo succinctly lays bear an agenda that has been in play since before the Civil War, and as I have demonstrated in previous parts of this series (and elsewhere), is still very much with us today.  The problem, as I have argued, is that many issues that are in front of us today for consideration were actually put forward by the liberal progressives at the turn of the century, who hoped at … continue reading...

The Jaffe Memo – Part 6; EVERYTHING is Now Political

In Part 5, I concluded that something very significant has happened over the last three decades: ‘politics’ has become all-encompassing.

In short: everything has become political.

And if everything has become political, and Christians are supposed to butt out, that means that the Christian is being asked (or told) that he can have absolutely no opinion at all about anything that happens in society that they are permitted to all. I’m not talking about abortion, or gay marriage. I’m talking about everything.

For example, let’s say we were talking about the minimum wage. At first blush, if ever there were … continue reading...

The Jaffe Memo, Ginsburg, Harris v. McRae, and Population Control – PART 5

In my first post, I showed how the beliefs of the Nazis and the eugenicists are disturbingly similar to viewpoints of some modern liberals.  I gave three examples;  I could have given three hundred.  The Jaffe Memo shows that ‘population control’ is central to the the progressive outlook on the world.  It is an aspect of their ‘religion.’  As progressives have flooded into the government over the last sixty years, the moral (!) righteousness of population control has become institutionalized.

I illustrated this fact by showing how several issues typically promoted as planks of the Democrat platform on the basis … continue reading...

Religion and Politics Must Mix- Jaffe Memo reaction – Part 3

The last part ended with a question that this part shall now answer.

Why?  Because ‘religious’ views are just one example of a ‘world view.’  I asked earlier, “Ought not our attitudes and behaviors in political society be driven by our views about the world?  If not our own views about the world, then whose views?”  The very nature of a ‘world view’ is that it is all encompassing.  If we are not allowed to advocate for things personally and publicly because of our views about the world, then obviously we do not live in a free society.   Obviously, if … continue reading...

Why Religion and Politics Must Mix; Jaffe Memo reflections continued- part two

This morning I posted a lengthy post on the Jaffe Memo, a document provided by a vice-president of Planned Parenthood in 1969.  This memo has been making its rounds because it advocates for the encouragement of homosexuality, forced abortions, adding sterilants to the water supply, and so on and so forth.  All this, from an organization that we are told advocates for “women’s health” and “freedom.”

Of course, anyone who has studied Planned Parenthood knows that this is a crock.  It was always about population control and enriching elitists.  In the Jaffe Memo, they are uncharacteristically honest about it.  Read … continue reading...

Reflections on the ‘Jaffe Memo’ and why ‘Religion’ and ‘Politics’ should Mix- Part 1

[Updated 9/11/2015 with link to original source document]

Former Planned Parenthood clinic director Abby Johnson has set the pro-life blogosphere on fire with her posting of the ‘Jaffe Memo,’ a memorandum written by Frederick S. Jaffe, former vice-president of Planned Parenthood.  Jaffe apparently was in charge of PP’s population control agenda.  The memo was written in 1969.

The memo appears to be legit but I haven’t been able to find its original source.  Read it:

The original has been found and a corrected copy has been created.  Download it:
