The truth about who pays taxes: Everyone and No One Simultaneously

Conservatives often challenge the logic and rationale behind taxing corporations because the tax is essentially a ‘pass through’ item;  the tax is paid by the consumer, in the form of higher prices for the product or service.  On this view, then, a tax on a corporation is actually a tax on the end user.  And this view is essentially correct.  It cannot be disputed at its core, because it is exactly the way the real world works- and will always work.

Why Sticking it to Big Business Sticks it to the Little Guy

Reality.

Call me quaint, but I believe we are obligated to conform our beliefs to the actual world around us.  It was chiefly on account of this that I felt compelled to take a perspective that we today call ‘conservative.’   There is the world we wished we lived in and there is the world that we actually live in.  Another way of putting this is:  people are as people are going to be and no social engineering will ever change what people are.

Obama Rallies in My Area: Wall Street and Main Street Greed

I apologize to readers normally arriving for the religious and philosophical content, but since Obama actually just spoke in my area I felt compelled to speak.  (Also, I don’t see a real division between religion, philosophy, and politics… political views are just the manifestation of one’s world view).  Since I watched it live on television I don’t have a link to a transcript, although I don’t think it will be necessary.
