Update on Kenya: Muslims and Islam Behind the Madness?
January 17, 2008 – 9:35 am by sntjohnny. Filed under Blog, General.Last week I posted some information about the Kenya church burnings. I wondered what the point was in burning down churches because of an election controversy, and in particular burning them with dozens of people trapped inside. I have sought more information and haven’t received it, but my friend Don Hank turned up information that this was a Muslim attack on Christians, or at least, their facilities. In his article on Worldnetdaily.com taking the media to task for being silent on this affair, he includes a link to this blog: http://directorblue.blogspot.com.
On DirectorBlue I finally learn that Raila Oding (the one who lost the election in Kenya) was a Muslim and had gained support for protesting the election from Muslim groups in Kenya, on the condition that Oding work to institute Islamic Sharia law in Kenya. According to this Wikipedia article, 80% of Kenya’s population is actually Christian. Only 10% is Muslim. Can you imagine Islamic Law being imposed by 10% of a Muslim population on the 90% that aren’t Muslim? This is madness!
However, the fact that we are slipping and sliding towards having yet another Islamic Tyranny in the country fails to be newsworthy on the major news sites. As is typical, the only thing that catches anyone’s attention is violence. There are things worse than death: the enslavement of tens of millions of people by a relative handful will result not just in one church burning but in hundreds. We have our lessons from Egypt, etc. We are not ignorant of what will happen to the Christian population if this plays out in the direction Oding is striving for.
I still don’t feel like I have enough information to really start raising holy hell on the matter. In particular, I’ve been trying to reach some Chrisitan groups who have ‘boots’ on the ground. As of yet, the updates I have received from them (second hand) do not broach the question of motive at all. As soon as I know something more, I’ll be happy to share it.
I leave you with this video from Youtube:

Hello sntjohnny!
This idea of telling only the PC part of the story and leaving the reader clueless is the oldest trick in the book, but a very high percentage of us are unaware or only vaguely aware of this spin, probably because something hurts inside when we find out someone we once trusted has betrayed us and we hope against hope it isn’t so. We need to inure ourselves to this reality so that we can cope. May I suggest fogiving the offender in our hearts but not falling for it the next time. The Italians have a wonderful proverb: to trust is good, to mistrust is better.
Our Brazilian colleague Olavo de Carvalho has graciously given Laigle’s Forum translation rights to an eye-opening article of his on the ways the press has spun some of the biggest events in the 20th century so that the truth is left absolutely standing on its head. The article is entitled “The weakening of the American soul.” Please check it out when it comes out (we’re shooting for tomorrow afternoon, Jan 29).
