It is a viral infection that has never been seen before (new strain). It is probably because it isolated itself from its natural reservoir or may have been spread from an animal host to humans. Sometimes, it may also come up as a result of tampering into the genetic makeup mutation that results in a lethal virus. Some novel viruses in history are London1_novel CoV/2012 and HCoV-EMC/2012(MERS-CoV), Influenza A virus(H1N1). Currently, it is a virus experts tracked originating from Wuhan, China, where wildlife market/trade was allowed. Scientists are not yet clear on the actual transmission mode of the virus, but more likely, they say it may have been passed from a bat or pangolin to human hosts.
