It is more reflecting on the innate American ability to confront and eradicate terrorism on a global scale. Those countries that harbor and abet terrorists think that America will fail in its efforts due to its lack of resolve. But time and again, the world has seen the mighty power of the US to fend off any potential attack domestic or to any of its allies abroad. American resolve went in full display when terrorist attacks were launched upon us on September 11, 2001. It was all about a nation willing to make sacrifices of its children and of its assets in order to allow democracy to prevail over tyranny. Our willingness to fight on at incredible cost to ourselves is a great and lasting mark on our people.

Coronavirus: “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

If you read my posts on the topic of the coronavirus so far… and I mean all of them, not just cherry picking them… I think you will find that I have attempted consistently to apportion my viewpoint to the actual facts on the ground and have, in the main, pretty well correctly described what was happening and what would happen.  However, my relative ‘optimism’ is not accounted for merely by reference to the fact pattern associated with COVID-19.  There are reasons besides, as well, which I’d like to share with you in this post.
